Do you sell bottles?

We do, please check out our range for a choice of bottles.

That said, we really encourage you to reuse a bottle you already have if you can. And feel good about the fact that every Cleanery sachet you use means one less single use plastic bottle in the world.

Bottle stickers are also available as a free bolt on at the check out, so you can easily label your Cleanery bottle or your bottle of choice.

Talk me through this again, how does it all work?

Cleanery cleaning and personal care products are simple and fast to mix up. Fill, tip, shake & spray. Simply fill your bottle with the required amount of warm water, open your sachet of Cleanery product, tip it into a clean bottle, give it a quick shake, wait for 30 seconds and you’re good to go. No hassle or waiting around for products to dissolve.

For our cleaning range, spray and wipe using a cloth as you would with traditional cleaning sprays.

For our personal care range, use as you would your normal products.

Why is your product a powder and not a tablet?

Great question. In short, because a powder works so much better than any of the tablets you might have seen.

Why? Our formulations are extremely effective, and our sachets contain enough product to actually deliver a proper clean. We don't want to hate on our tablet friends (we reckon any initiative that is trying to reduce single use plastic is a great step) but they don't pack much of a punch. Trust us. When we first set out on the Cleanery journey it was our aim to create a tablet, but we quickly realised they didn't deliver a decent clean.

Our sachets contain an average of 17g of powerful naturally formulated product. The powder pours easily into your bottles and dissolves instantly in water. In comparison, a tablet needs to be small enough to fit through a bottle neck (which really limits how big it can be) and they usually take time to dissolve. The average tablet weighs 6-8g, which includes a whole lot of binders, effervescing agents and other stuff that doesn't contribute to a clean - in other words, they simply don't contain enough active product to have much effect.  Powder for the win.

Seeing is believing, so check out our tile test results which speak for themselves

You can read our full blog on why powder is the clear winner here.

How long does the powder take to dissolve?

We know you’re a busy person. Our eco cleaning and personal care products don’t require any long wait time until they’re ready to use. Tip the powder into the required amount of warm water, give it a shake, leave it for 30 seconds to work its magic, and you are ready to get started.

What are the Cleanery sachets made from?

Our products are packaged in a small sachet that is more than 99% less packaging than a traditional spray bottle. Our empty sachets weigh less than a gram.

The sachet is made from a film that is recyclable through the soft-plastics recycling system (or you can send them back to us and we’ll see them safely recycled).

Read our full blog on our sachet here

How do I dispose of the Cleanery sachets?

Cleanery sachets can be recycled through the soft plastics recycling scheme. We are a part of the Soft Plastics Recycling Scheme in New Zealand.

If you do not have access to soft plastics drop off points, email us on hello@cleanery.co.nz and we will send you an envelope to collect your sachets in and then return to us.

What is the shelf life of the product?

Two years in the sachet, and as long as your product takes to use up once made.

Are Cleanery products septic tank safe?

They sure are.

What surfaces can I use the cleaning products on?

Cleanery formulations are designed to be gentle on all common hard surfaces such as acrylics in bathrooms and melamine in the kitchen, and being dye and pigment free also helps to protect surfaces from staining.

Use with caution on marble surfaces and on very worn old enamel baths or particularly worn surfaces of any sort - when diluted our products should be safe to use on these surfaces, but we would advise doing a small spot test first to be safe.

When using them on granite or similar surfaces, we recommend spraying the product on to a cloth and then wiping, rather than spraying directly on to the granite.

As with all household products, we recommend testing them on an inconspicuous spot before using.

Can I use them on granite counters?

Yes you can, but we would advise spraying the product on to a cloth and then wiping, rather than spraying directly on to the granite.

If you have any surface queries please reach out, our science team are always more than happy to advise.

Tips & tricks

To clear a blocked spray nozzle, submerge the entire head and stem in warm water and squeeze the trigger until clear.

--

Use a clean bottle when mixing up your new spray.  Warm water will give best results when mixing up your Cleanery products. If you use extra cold water, allow a little more time for the product to clear and dissolve – don’t worry, it will get there.

---

For the best result from our glass cleaner please use the following technique:

1/ Clean using damp cloth and sparing use of product (a little goes a long way with the glass cleaner). Rinse your cloth regularly as you go if the window/glass is very dirty.

2/ Once clean, wipe with clean wet cloth

3/ Buff dry with a clean dry cloth

Safe use

Avoid contact of powder with skin and eyes. Do not inhale dust. Keep out of reach of children. Use in accordance with directions.
